This page explains how stone moves from raw block to a packed order at Alis Stones in Rajasthan, India.
From Block To Finished Stone
Every order passes through the same main stages:
- Selecting the stone: blocks or slabs are chosen to match the stone, colour and quantity in the quotation.
- Cutting: the stone is cut into slabs, then into tiles, pavers or other sizes as ordered.
- Finishing: the surface is given the finish the buyer chose, such as natural, honed, polished, leather or flamed.
- Checking: sizes, thickness, finish and breakage are checked before packing.
- Packing: the stone is packed in wooden crates or on pallets for transport.
